Brainspotting Therapy Intensive FAQ
-
Brainspotting Intensives are specific, goal focused therapy that is designed to let you skip the waitlist and dive deeply into the issues you’ve been wanting to heal, in a safe and focused environment.
Work through symptoms much faster and on a schedule that works for you. No more taking time off of work or negotiating progress with each weekly session and the things that happen in between them.
Intensives can speed up healing by eliminating:
- the check in at the beginning of each session
- addressing each new concern or crisis that comes up between sessions
- time spent on developing coping skills that client’s don’t need after healing
- helping client’s gain composure in order to leave session and return to daily life (sometimes it isn’t even needed anymore!) -
First we meet for a 60 minute interview to determine your goals, your current circumstances (clarifying stressors, support system, current ways of coping with strong emotion and physical sensations), and to identify the amount of time needed. We will also discuss your trauma history and any negative beliefs you may still be holding onto.
Next, we work together during the intensive to work through and decrease emotional pain while also helping you to strengthen supportive memories, thoughts, and emotions. We will take a short, incremental breaks and then return to the work.
This may also include processing through relationships, events, or goals or worries about your future. This process is very personal and should be highly customized to what you’re seeking.Lastly, we will meet for a follow up session to explore how the intensive experience settled in, marking what you’ve processed and learned, how you can build on these new insights, and continue to honor these shifts moving forward.

Sticker shock?
Let me show you why intensive therapy is actually more effective, efficient, and cheaper than weekly therapy.
Weekly therapy:
10-15 mins checking in
20-30 mins processing
10-15 mins closing
The average insurance co-pay is about $30. If you do weekly therapy for 50 weeks, that is $1,500. This doesn’t account for possible childcare expenses, gas, travel, taking time off work…etc.
Weekly therapy is 50ish hours of your life each year, more if traveling for in-person sessions. You could spend weeks to months or even years working on one issue, not to mention trying to get back to that issue when the inevitable crisis-of-the-week gets in the way!
At the end of the year you have spent $1,500 in just copays, likely making moderate progress at best. This could go on year after year. Sound familiar?
Intensive therapy:
10-15 mins checking in
60-150 mins processing
10-15 mins closing
You have the potential to resolve one or multiple issues in a single intensive. With the advanced science of bypassing talk therapy and the targeted focused sessions of intensives, you are truly doing more work in less time. You could do 50hrs of therapy in 3 hours!
* FEEL BETTER FASTER *
You don’t have to take time off work, school, or find childcare every week. Saving you time, energy, and money.
The potential to stop or reduce use of symptom managing medications that may not even be working. Another cost saver.
