Online therapy for your comfort and lifestyle anywhere in Washington and Oregon

Online Therapy

Many names describe the same thing: quality therapy services available on your schedule that work with your busy lifestyle.

Increased access in so many ways:

  • less barriers for people who are immuno-compromised, differently-abled, or experience chronic pain

  • no longer limited to therapists that are located near your location

  • a wider pool of professionals means services that are a better fit for your unique needs

  • more choice of clinicians may mean shorter time on waitlists

Services that fit your lifestyle:

  • not having to compromise on research backed, high quality therapy services

  • no more adding time to your appointment by commuting and struggling with parking

  • many people double up on time management by having therapy during work hours to keep their free time free

  • reducing childcare cost since you can stay near your child during your session

  • staying in your pajamas, in your own house, out of the rain, or near your pets are all comforting things that may not be options with in-person sessions

  • Most topics and concerns work well in an online therapy format. However if you’ve been finding yourself in severe crisis or actively considering suicide, in-person therapy services are going to be a better fit.

Local in-person providers are likely going to be able to connect you with additional resources in your community that online clinicians may not know about and that may be of great benefit to you during these critical times.

  • Video based therapy has been around since the 1950s. Research since then shows that using a video or telephone based format is as effective as in-person therapy!

In fact, CPT was developed by the military by using a video based format and has contributed nearly 20 years worth of data to the effectiveness of telehealth.

  • There is always some risk when it come to things that are online, as certain elements are simply unpredictable.

As a Washington State Telemedicine Training Certified therapist, I’ve sought out additional opportunities to ensure interventions are effectively adapted to an electronic format, and to ensure all additional precautions have been taken to protect your personal data and security (HIPPA compliant software, physical measures in my environment).

  • All paperwork between us will be completed electronically for the duration of our working relationship. You will receive an email and/or a text reminder for your appointment each week, depending on how you set up your patient portal. This is where you will fin the link to your appointment each week.

You will need reliable internet, a device with video and 2 way sound exchange, and a private, confidential space for our sessions.

Some people like to use a white noise machine outside their room in order to feel more secure when having session while roommates or partners are home, others like to have session in their car, and others don’t care either way if they can be heard from the other room. You know what will work best for you.
